I'm a Guest Blogger! and our Feb. 1st quilt recipient

Click on the button to the right that says "I'm a Guest Blogger on Quilt Bloggers" and read my submission about Margaret's Hope Chest!! I'm so excited for this chance!

Tomorrow is Feb. 1 and we are giving our first quilt to a mother who recently found out that the baby she is carrying has a severe heart defect. The future of this baby is uncertain-there are many unknowns. We pray for peace for them as they make hard decisions.

Quilt Liquidation!

Can you believe Feb. is only a few days away? Here at Margaret's Hope Chest, February is a big month for us. We plan on giving away one quilt every day of the month. 28 days-28 quilts. I can hardly believe that we have a stockpile of 28 quilts but we do. I have 23 recipients lined up already. That means I still need 5 more suggestions. Can you think of someone who needs some hope and might benefit from the gift of a quilt? Please let me know via e-mail or leave a comment. One note: We love to send quilts to people outside of Michigan too-so if the person you have in mind lives somewhere else that's OK-pass it along.

3 of the 9

I have finished placing borders on the 9 quilts that I am GOING to get done in the next two weeks. Now to sandwich them all....this is my least favorite part of the quilting process.
This week, we gave three quilts to my cousin Laura who is starting a brand-new life with her family in Cardston, Alberta. Her and her husband will be ministering to the Indiginous people there, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Laura will be giving those quilts to kids that she meets there who are in need of some HOPE. I will be praying for warmth and good beginnings!

Finishing What we Have Started

My goal this month at Margaret's Hope Chest is to finish all of the unfinished quilt tops. Currently, I have 9 and I have finished 2. My mom is working on a few as well. We both want to start new projects with new fabrics BUT we are restraining ourselves!
Speaking of my mom, she has now been named Co-Director of MHC. I thought it would be appropriate considering she does as much if not more work than I do-plus, she has the joy of storing all of the fabric and supplies in her basement! I'll be back to post pictures of the finished quilts and updates on quilt giving! Happy New Year!
