Off to Raise Money!

Here are two quilts that have left the Hope Chest to raise money for some MHC-worthy causes!

This quilt was made about a year ago by yours truly for the West Michigan Quilt Show-it is called 'Grandmother's Cross'. This quilt will be auctioned off at Silent Observer's yearly fundraiser in September. We are happy to support Silent Observer because they played a major role in the apprehension of one of the girls involved in my grandma's murder.

This second quilt is going to Kimberly. Here is a bit of what she wrote about what she will be doing with this quilt.

"My name is Kimberly and I am writing to ask for support from you and your company. I am in the process of raising money for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, which will take place in Long Beach, California on September 12th/13th. I will walk 40-miles in 2 days and raise $1,800.00 for the cause. I know that having a breast cancer quilt will raise more awareness to the cause and also touch the hearts of our breast cancer fighters. I would like to donate the quilt to one of our fighters, paying tribute to her courage as she fight this deadly disease. So many women's lives are affected by this deadly disease. My walking 40-miles is a small task compared to the battle that they wage."

  1. Carin, that first quilt is AWESOME! I clicked on it to see it closer and the details are so cool! Where did you get the pattern? And did you quilt it yourself?
