My best friend's daughter had twins. One of them, at only 3-months-old, just had open heart surgery. She's been in the hospital for two weeks, and as soon as they get her lungs clear, she will get to go home. Your beautiful quilt would be a lovely comfort. Thank you. :)

I have a neighbor who's little girl has a brain tumor! They found it on Christmas Eve of 2009. She was my daughter's bestie friend...and she cried every day at church that her friend was missing. She went through so much...she had to re-learn to walk and talk! It's amazing. She's come so far...but still has a long way to go!
Thank you.

What a WONDERFUL giveaway! I can thankfully say that I don't know of any child who is in need of a quilt, but I just wanted to say thank you for your generous heart!

does it have to be a little girl? because there's a lady I know who has breast cancer and it's terminal. this would be a wonderful thing to send to her, esp. as it gets colder. she is so thin and could use this to snuggle with during the winter.

I know of a little girl with cancer that's been going through chemo for a long time. I'm sure she'd be thrilled with a quilt to snuggle when she's not feeling well.

I just wanted to say thank you for doing such a nice and wonderful thing! If you don't already a NICE button on your site you should get one from OPERATION NICE.com! Have a great day!

I know a little girl in a hopeless home situation. She has no father; in fact, no one knows who her father is. Her mother has openly said that she only keeps the little girl because she gets welfare money for her. This little girl spends every afternoon and all day Sundays with my friend and her husband, who are showing her what a true family is all about. I'd like to win the quilt for her to use at their house to remind her that there are people in this world who love her for who she is. I can guarantee that the girl would receive the quilt and be the only one to use it!

I don't personally know a little girl who needs to be wrapped in the love this quilt represents, but I work for a hospital. What I would do is have you send the quilt to our Human Resources department, we have a couple of groups in the hospital supported by staff that try to help our patients in need. Our nursing staff would easily be able to supply the names of a number of children who are struggling with major health conditions. A very thoughtful and love-filled give-away,thanks so much.

I would love to be entered into this drawing.. I belong to a CCS group and we recieved a request for a tote bag which we sent out. The bag went to a little 3 year old girl who had just had another open heart surgery, she has fluids that collect around her heart and has had heart problem since birth. I think this is one brave little girl and I am told that she will have to undergo more surgeries in the future... I would love to have this beautiful quilt sent to her to wrap her in hope and love.

I am a member of a group of quilters who make quilts for 2 local orphanages here where I live. We have an appt. on oct 22 to take in more quilts to be presented to certain children.

I am not asking for you to sign me up for your quilt as I have many women already helping me..

but I would like to nominate Susan (comment #9) in my place. I do not know Susan but my heart leapt out for that precious little girl!

Please give Susan an extra chance, compliments of me.

This is a wonderful work you are doing in honor of your grandmother.

I know you said it is for a girl, but I think my son would like it. I will find out in the next month or so if he needs his third surgery. He has inoperable tumors on his legs that are spreading fast and doing alot of damage. One literally split his calf muscle to the bone, and destroyed all the nerve endings in about 8 weeks.

I don't know of any little child who would really need this quilt, so if I were to win, I would like YOU to choose someone to send it to please. Is that allowed?

A friend of mine has had many struggles recently. The latest one is her husband's brain cancer returning. I would give the quilt to their oldest daughter who is 8 years old and also disabled.

I would like this quilt to go to a girl who lives in Yukon. Her mother was my client (I'm a probation officer) but she died tragically a month and a half ago. Her daughter is twelve but developmentally delayed, probably because of an illness she has had since birth. She was with her mom the day she died. My heart was torn for this child. I can provide more details and a name and address if I win.

this is completely amazingly generous of you! I think it's a fantastic way to do a giveaway. I know a little girl who's father recently passed away from cancer (stomach then spread) She's only 3 years old, and her mom is one of my best friends. Sadly they moved away shortly after the father's death.

PS you can promote your giveaway on the new Quilty Giveaways site (it's free) http://quiltygiveaways.blogspot.com/

I do not personally know of a little girl in need but would love if you could donate it to the Fisher House at the Ft. Campbell, KY military base for when a little girl (maybe with no siblings) finds she desperately needs such love and warmth.

Your giveaway is beautiful and such a gift, it makes me want to get up and start a new project for my charity of choice right now. Thank you

I do not know of a little girl but I would like to donate another quilt for you so that you can choose two winners. Is that ok?

This is such a lovely thing to do. I am happy to say that I don't know of a little girl who needs this and I want to piggyback on someone else's comment and let you pick someone if I win. Just had to say how lovely this is.

A close friend of mine just left an unfaithful husband, and moved accross the country with her 3 kids to make a new start. She's going to school full-time, and trying to be both parents for her son and 2 daughters. I'd love to give this quilt to her oldest daughter.

The timing of this giveaway is just perfect. A friend of mine has an 18 mo old daughter who was just diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer two weeks ago, and started her chemo last week. Right now they're hoping to "fatten" her up so she can go home this week. She is on the list for a transplant. The family remains hopeful. Kids are tough little cookies and miracles happen everyday!I was hoping to make a quilt for her but it will be a while before I have the time. And this quilt will be pefect for the chilly days ahead.
Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful quilt for little Lacy!

I would love to win this quilt to donate to a little girl in a home that our quilt guild sponsers. We have ten differnt groups, but I am thinking that it would be perfect for the one home that they remove battered children to after they are removed from their homes.

What a servants heart you have. I know a teen age girl that comes to our church. She has been trying to do right in a bad home situation. I would like her to have this quilt to encourage her to keep doing right.
As for the address, it would have to be sent to me or the church to give to her.

I have a niece who is 14, her father, my brother died last December of Huntingtons Chorea. It is a horrible hereditary disease and her little brother has it too. His prognosis is not good, children who get this diseases symptoms at this early of an age usually do not live into their teens, he is 10. They are in foster care, because my Mother took care of my brother until his death and she is 72. The childrens mother can not care for them either. I would love for her to get something that was meant just for her.
I just want to say that any of these requests would be a great way to show love, and you are great to do this.

I have a 13 year old daughter with Severe Scoliosis. M was first diagnosed at age 11 and our family doctor told us not to worry she has never had any child severe enough to wear a brace or have surgery. We met with M's Orthopedic doctor and then learned that she had a severe S curve in her spine. The same day she was sent to be fitted for her first brace. Now M is 13 and still dealing with scoliosis, she is still growing so we are not sure how bad her curves will get. We know that M will need surgery by the time she is 15, she will have rods placed along side her spine. All through this ordeal M has been a wonderful happy little girl. She mentors in her school, is a straight A student, plays tennis, and volunteers in the after school program. She has some very hard days, has to deal with other kids making fun of her but she continues to hold her head high and deal with each day one at a time. I would love for M to be the receiver of this beautiful quilt, I know it would make some of those hard days a little easier.

Wow, my story isnt as good as everybody elses, but here it goes. My cousin was pregnant this summer. Her water 'broke' 9 weeks premature. She was immediatly hospitalized and on bed rest for 3 weeks. The baby was born 6 weeks premature. Since her birth she has had several health problems (she even 'crashed' once and had to be revived) and has yet to come home. I would love to be able to send her such a wonderful gift.
If I don't win, please, all who read this, keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

Thanks,
MJ

I know of several people who could use the quilt but, after reading the stories of the homeless and ill, I think they may need it more. I have a god-daughter who is in an abusive situation can't find a job because of the dork she is with, and it is the two kids who will suffer.

Bless you for what you are doing. You are an inspiration to all of us to dig a little deeper and give a little more of ourselves. I don't have a little girl who needs this quilt, the one I would have suggested has gone home to the Lord from bone cancer.

If I were to win, I would like it sent to a lady who is once again fighting cancer. She has been fighting for three years now. She was always doing for others, I would love to give this quilt to her.

My niece is 7, and failing. Doctors can't find the reason, but she is already confined to a wheelchair. They suspect a fatal mitochondrial disease. She finally realized that she is probably going to die last month...it's hard. I would nominate her for the quilt.
