Our next Quilt of HOPE is up for nominations! Do you know a WOMAN in your neighborhood, church, or family that could benefit from the warmth and comfort of this beautiful quilt?
This quilt measures 58" X 74". It was donated to us during our HOPE SQUARED program and we thought it was so special that we set it aside for this program.
So, just like last time, if you know someone please leave a comment with a first name and a brief description of the situation. You can also e-mail your nomination to Carin margaretshopechest@yahoo.com . I will pick a winner on FEBRUARY 1st-and as always SPREAD THE HOPE!
A FEW REMINDERS:
* Please only recommend a woman that you have an address for (or could get an address for)
*The quilt will be directly sent to the woman.
*More than one recommendation per person is great-just leave a separate comment for each woman.

a beautiful Quilt! What a lovely gift to give someone who needs some encouragement!
Hi MHC,
A mother, RANA, of my son's classmate is on my heart right now as she is going through tough times. She is separated from her husband and is working full time to support her children. Her 4 year old son is autistic and her 6 year old daughter is physically and mentally disabled (Lissencephaly). It just seems like an unbearable amount for anyone to shoulder and I would love for her to be blessed with some hope...
lovely quilt!
My mom, Jean, could use a huge dose of Hope right now. She was laid off in early July. She's been looking for a job since, but other than substitute teaching (when she gets called), she's not found anything. She is the live-in care-giver for her mom/my grandma, and I know the stress of all of this is wearing on her. Unfortunately, I live out of the country and can't help her as I'd like. A gift of hope would be such a blessing to her at this time. She is feeling very discouraged lately; this would cheer her up and keep her going.
There is a woman in my Bible study (Carla)who has been separated from her hubby for 2 years, i think. She is waiting for God to transform both her and her hubby's hearts. She knows God's desire is for complete restoration. I don't know all the details but she is becoming discouraged since His timing is not her timing. She has 4 or 5 kids(13-20something)and is raising them as a single mom, for now. I think this quilt would be a tangible something that she could wrap around herself, reminding her that God wraps His arms around her even when she feels all alone.
A friend of mine from church, Elizabeth, is going through a divorce. Her husband is very hostile toward her and constantly breaks the restraining order. She still loves him and doesn't want their children (who are 4 and 2) to have a father in jail, so endures rather than reports. She works 24 hour shifts and is having a hard time finding child care (her husband refuses to help her because of the restraining order). She could use a boost of strength and hope during this time. Her husband expects her to come back to him because he thinks she has no where else to go. I want her to know that there is always another choice and that someone will love her and she can find support elsewhere.
A young woman, C, who lived a tumultous life as a child. Her home was not safe; she lived many years in a variety of foster care placements and residential treatment. Her current home situation is not stable; she has had a rough time trying to complete a high school diploma. She has dreams, hopes, and a lively spirit that sometimes sags. A Quilt of Hope could be a big boost to her determination and belief in herself!
My husband's sister... They lost their dad just four months ago, which tore her up emotionally... then she found out she may lose her scholarship and have to drop out of college, now, just a week or two ago she found out she is pregnant, and her boyfriend is facing jail time for drug charges. She is very scared and worried right now, and I think a beautiful quilt would be like a wonderful hug from her dad...
Also, slightly unrelated- I noticed mention on your website about quilt kits available for quilters to finish... I can do that. I can't afford to make the quilt from my own fabric, but if fabric is supplied I can definitely provide the time and effort and love :D
